On November 23, 1971, the New York Post announced: Edie, Andy’s star of 65, dead at 28.

He didn’t make much of the death of his most famous sixties Superstar; he acted as if it were just another passing detail in his long business day. Death was not something Andy liked to contemplate.

“I never understood Edie," he repeated forever after when her name came up. "I mean, she was beautiful and talented and from a glamorous family, but she thought she was nothing.”

“A picture means I know where I was every minute. That's why I take pictures. It's a visual diary.”
